So to step through... 

Add a break point (picture 1) 
(I put one at the start of each module) where you want to start investigating.

Then step through by clicking the 2nd icon (the dot with a curved arrow over it) and it steps one thing at a time unless it goes to another module where it will do that then come back. 
Hence the break at the start of each one....
